Schmidt Westergard Receives United Way’s Top Honor

On May 9, Schmidt Westergard & Company received the Mesa United Way’s top honor, the Heart of Mesa Award. The presentation occurred at the United Way’s annual luncheon.

The award is made annually to the organization that provides the top combination of corporate and employee leadership during the 2007 United Way campaign. Criteria include per capita employee contributions of at least $100; increased employee and corporate giving over the previous year; the existence of an employee education program on the importance of supporting the Mesa United Way; dedicated contributions to the Mesa United Way’s Community Care Fund; and employee participation in Mesa United Way volunteer committees.

In accepting the award for the firm, Lynn Westergard noted that “One of our core values is to give back to the community."
